THE COMPANY

Manchester Airport is the global gateway to the north of England with over 100 airlines connecting 22 million passengers a year to over 225 destinations world wide. More than any other UK airport employing over 19,000 people on site.
To keep all those flights and passengers running smoothly MAG produces 7 million documents per year and was looking for a company to implement a new copy/print strategy group wide.
MAG had a distributed print/copy platform consisting of 6 suppliers and some 500+ devices on different support contracts.  MAG needed to embrace new technology in order to capture the financial and operational benefits needed.
Alex Seagrave MCIP and his team collated all the historical data through a complete print audit of some 430 workstations and 550 users and produced a comprehensive tender document which was responded to by 8 companies using 31 separate criteria.
4 companies were short listed, Canon, Konica Minolta, Danwood and M2.  MAG again conducted a full tender exercise including financial and quantitive evaluation with presentations, from the short listed companies and chose M2 as their preferred supplier

THE BRIEF

The reason given for the award Alex Seagrave said that “M2’s offer scored more highly with quantitive evaluation than their competitors in support hours, response times, first time fix rate and footprint development.  M2 proved to have the experience in similar size contracts and offered BEST VALUE also offering a simple solution to complicated issues.  It was felt the flexible and personable approach would be advantageous to MAG.
