THE COMPANY

Shoosmiths was established over 150 years ago and is now one of the countries leading law firms, operating from seven offices across the UK and employing some 1300 staff.

Before M2 Digital was drafted in, they produced over 10 million documents per year from over 150 devices. These were supplied by a number of different companies, using multiple technologies on a variety of contracts with differing commitments
.

THE BRIEF

Shoosmiths needed to simplify their print fleet to a single supplier, which had to be capable of supporting the different technologies needed to a high level and offer a managed service with little or no need for staff to be involved on a day-to-day basis. The firm required a single billing platform that would be flexible enough to meet the growing challenges of the business and give accurate quarterly management data. Shoosmiths also wanted to reduce the amount they print and get better value for money.

M2 SOLUTION

M2 Digital was chosen for our commitment to supporting and managing their printing equipment, which had been gradually developed over the last 15 years through innovation in technology.
We produced a working document based on data collated from Shoosmiths devices using the unique M2 Docu-Audit system. As a result, we recommended a balanced deployment of assets to reducing the number of devices by moving towards multi-functional devices.
Our solution made use of our innovative Docu-Plan, a managed print service that offered Shoosmiths a one-stop solution. We installed a mix of Ricoh and HP products, and matched the M2 Docu-Flow software solution to their legacy systems. This now provides vastly simplified quarterly management reports.

BENEFITS TO SHOOSMITHS

M2 took control of the entire print fleet, allowing Shoosmiths to concentrate on their clients. They now enjoy a guaranteed cost of production, and have improved efficiency by using just one phone number for all their support services and supplies. Consolidating their equipment into multi-functional devices has increased productivity as well as helping to reduce waste. The solution is flexible enough to grow with the business and will evolve based on their requirements going forward.
