THE COMPANY
The prestigious Westwood College in leafy Leek, Staffordshire, began life as a stately home and at the turn of the 20th century became a girls school. Over the last 100 years, the school has developed into one of the top education facilities in the UK with 1200 students and is now known as a specialist arts & language college, drawing pupils from all over Staffordshire.
PRINT HISTORY
Duncan Smith, IT Manager at Westwood benefited from his education there, understanding the rich history and the challenges for the next century.Duncan had inherited a distributed printer fleet of 30+ machines with a central copying facility.
The cost of running the printers was prohibitive and using an unusually large portion of their budget and still did not meet the needs of the pupils. Duncan had spent considerable time and effort sourcing cheaper consumables to reduce the cost of their printing but was still not happy with the fleets’ capabilities.

M2 ASSESSMENT
Duncan commissioned several companies to come up with a strategy to improve his fleet of printers to meet the demands of the pupils and teachers and reduce the costs including Ricoh, Xerox and several local companies.
M2 Docu-care were chosen as the only company capable of meeting all the criteria set out by WestwoodCollege. The M2 Account Manager for Westwood College collated data through the unique Docu-audit process and recommended a fleet of 20+ printers from the M2 best of breed product portfolio.
PRODUCTIVITY INCREASE
Westwood College now have a printer fleet that increases choice and productivity and reduces their carbon footprint. With duplex printing they have reduced paper usage by 15% and realised savings of 12% on print costs.
Duncan Smith said “I no longer have to search the internet for toner cartridges as they are supplied by M2 within 48 hours and included within the contract price”.
iNSTALLATION AND SUPPORT
The installation was achieved in one day with no interruptions to staff or pupils and the M2 Docu-care service program is delivering beyond expectations. We have had two service calls; the first was fixed within three hours and the second was fixed within two hours. I recommend M2 for their professional and courteous attitude and their capability to deliver what they promise.
